Get involved with the Billericay Board Game Club

Come along and enjoy a board game or two at Hackers with the Billericay Board Game Club.

Whilst many of us are still missing the Christmas festivities and unbridled joy it spreads to family and friends alike, many household traditions will have included a competitive board game or two round the table.

Monopoly is always a staple favourite with 275 million copies sold worldwide since its first introduction in 1935 but with so many other classics like Cluedo, Pop Up Pirate, Guess Who? and Frustration mixed with newer, and also popular, games like Exploding Kittens and Gullible, we are all truly spoilt for choice.

There’s something beautifully nostalgic and refreshing about playing board games as a family.

The competitive rivalry, the never ending game that gets played into the early hours of the morning, the highs of winning paired with the lows of suffering what looked like a certain victory snatched from the jaws of defeat by player 3, or as they are otherwise known, ‘mum’.

In addition to this, the family bonding and, importantly, time spent away from our phones is more of a reason why we don’t only have to play board games at Christmas, so why not start playing them more regularly?

Every Wednesday, Billericay Board Game Club host a weekly gathering at Hackers 5:30pm-10:30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along, most importantly bring games (critical), and enjoy a friendly fun board game. With many psychological health benefits including improved cognitive function, decreased stress and enhancement of creativity, you are sure to love these bonding board game sessions.
