Faversham Family Bike Ride 2024

The Faversham Family Bike Ride is set to return this year on 12th May.

Organised by Faversham Rotary Club and supported by local businesses, the 12.5km cycle ride takes you through the beautiful scenery and countryside of south Faversham.

CommunityAd Exclusive - Faversham Family Bike Ride 2024Cycling has been long proven to have many benefits on both your physical and mental health. It’s a fantastic cardiovascular workout that helps to strengthen your heart, lungs, and muscles, and regular cycling can improve your overall fitness and contribute to reducing the risk of illnesses such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Cycling also has a much lower impact on your joints than other sports such as running and is a great form of exercise to get into if you are not used to high-impact or high-intensity workouts.

Beyond the physical benefits cycling also improves mental health wellbeing. Riding a bike through the countryside, as the Faversham Family Bike Ride would take you through, exposes you to fresh air, sunlight, and nature, all things that have been proven to contribute to a healthier mind.

The Faversham Family Bike Ride is also an incredibly social event, open to everyone; beginner cyclists to experienced riders, families, and friends of all ages, and is a very welcoming event. It’s fun, great exercise, and raises money for a great charity.

This year’s Bike Ride is raising money for Faversham Rotary’s Community Chest which helps support organisations that serve the local community. Faversham Rotary’s Community Chest has recently provided support to many local organisations, such as Young Carers, Umbrella Centre, Abbey Physic Community Garden, Abbey School, Queen Elizabeth School Grammar, and many more.

The ride will begin and end at The Abbey School, London Road, ME13 8RZ, at 10am. The route is well sign-posted with marshals, first aiders, cycle mechanics, and support vehicles along the route to keep you safe and on track.

To register for the event please visit www.favershambikeride.org. All cyclists must wear a helmet. Any under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The entry fee is £12 per adult and £5 for children. Riders can be sponsored for their chose charities or for Rotary’s local community projects.

So come and join us at the Faversham Family Bike Ride, for some fresh air, and fun, and help us make a difference! It’s going to be a great day!
