Running the Faversham 10K for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Are you a runner or a track star? Well, you don’t need to be to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust this September with the Faversham 10k.

Lenni Frampton, 40, a resident from Whitstable is taking part in the Faversham 10K on 19th September all in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust and in memory of Sophie Foreman, the daughter of a close friend who tragically lost her life to Cystic Fibrosis four years ago after her 21st birthday.

CommunityAd caught up with Lenni to find out a little bit about the 10K run and the motivation behind the fundraiser.

Lenni told us: “I’ve never liked injustice, unfairness and inequality and because of that, I have always tried when I can to support different charities that redress the balance. I’m not rich, but I’m lucky enough to be capable of putting one foot in front of the other and did my first London marathon in 2006 for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre. I hate the impact the pandemic has had on charities doing very important work and it worries me how it’s often the already most vulnerable in society who bear the brunt.

“When I saw that the Faversham 10k is in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust there was no question that I’d apply to run it in memory of Sophie. Sophie is the daughter of my friend, and CF took her from us four years ago just after her 21st birthday. I loved Sophie’s dry humour, her bravery, her courage and most of all, I admired her devotion to her sisters who she absolutely adored.

“I cannot begin to imagine the fear that COVID must trigger for families who are living with CF. It’s hidden from most of us lucky enough to be healthy and I hope that raising money for this cause can go some way in supporting these families at such a difficult time. I’d like to thank everyone who has donated to my JustGiving page so far – you’re doing a great thing.

“I do run regularly, mostly to try and retain the little sanity I have, but I’m no athlete. Wine and cheese have definitely hampered any Olympic call ups over the years, but for the Faversham 10k I will channel my inner Soph and at least try and get a PB.”

For anyone who would like to donate to Lenni’s fundraiser and cheer her on with some much-deserved support make your way over to her JustGiving page. To find out more about the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, visit their website today.
