Birchington Easter Bunny Trail

During both weeks of the schools Easter holidays Birchington Pet Shop, supported by a large group of Birchington Traders, ran an Easter Bunny Trail. It was open to all children from inside and outside of the village.

Throughout the village there were 26 posters displayed in business windows, which were hand-decorated by the shopkeepers or their children. The Woodland Pet Spa’s poster was even decorated by their dogs! Each poster showed a different Easter word which needed to be filled in on the entry sheet. There was also a colouring competition.

In the current financial climate finding ways to fill the holidays can be really hard for parents. We, as a group of traders, wanted to do something that would be completely free, but also fun.

The feedback we’ve been given has been amazing! We have had children travel in from quite a distance to participate, which is fantastic for our village shops who have so much to offer!

After the trail ended we drew out around 60 prize winners with some specially commended for their colouring in! The prizes were donated by Birchington Pet Shop, Miles & Barr, Glenn & Co, Brills, House of Cards, Priceless & Blue Mondays. There was a good assortment of prizes including Easter Eggs, Toys, Activity Books and more.

We have run trails in the past, but we believe this was the biggest yet in terms of participation and prizes. We also have plans for future community events, so watch this space!
