A terrific season for Tadley-Calleva

Local football club Tadley-Calleva continue to thrive throughout both the senior and youth sections.

Last season, which finished at the beginning of May, was no exception with the first team finishing in eighth place at Step 5, the Reserves finishing second and the ‘A’ team completing yet another league season without a defeat.

The ‘A’ team, in particular celebrated back to back success when retaining the ‘Peter Raynbird Cup’, a competition for teams competing in the Basingstoke and District Football League. A five goals to one victory over a newly formed Basing United saw Tadley-Calleva A team lift back to back Peter Raynbird Cups in front of a home crowd at Barlows Park.

Tadley-Calleva A defeated Overton United reserves three-nil in the 2021/22 competition. Captain Charlie Cunningham reflected on the victory by saying ‘Although completing a second consecutive season unbeaten in the league, we feel we had a disappointing season by our standards, especially missing out on back to back league titles thanks to two draws. Retaining the Peter Raynbird Cup at our home, Barlows Park was a highlight of our season. It is always great to see such loyal and vocal support for us’.

Tadley-Calleva A team will become the Reserve team moving forward and will compete in the Hampshire League, division one.

Tadley-Calleva first team will remain in the Combined Counties Premier South for the 2023/24 season, a league in which they finished in eighth place, a position the club were happy with but looking to grow on moving forward.

Barlow’s Park will play host to nineteen home league matches for the first team with both FA Cup and FA Vase games in the offing at the beginning of the season. Supporters and casual followers of football can attend the ground at a cost of just £6 per adult with concession prices at £3 to take in some great Non-League football.

Tadley-Calleva recently announced the renewal of their partnership with local metal recycling firm A4 Metal Recycling as main club sponsor for another season, bringing together a strategic partnership with benefits for both parties. A4 Metal Recycling have been in partnership with Tadley-Calleva for a decade now, with both seeing growth as a result.

The club took to Twitter to announce the renewal and said ‘Tadley-Calleva are delighted to have renewed our main sponsor partnership with A4 Metal Recycling – A partnership that has allowed for mutual success over the past few years, and one which will allow progress moving forward’.

Tadley-Calleva’s league season is due to start at the beginning of August so be sure to follow the club on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with all the news, fixtures and results.
