Dogtember 2026: A Splashing Success at Saltdean Lido

The canine community is in high spirits as Dogtember 2026 unfolds at Saltdean Lido, bringing together furry friends and their human companions for a joyous water-based celebration. The event, which began earlier this month, allows dogs and their owners to swim together in Saltdean’s outdoor pool, creating a memorable experience for all involved.

A Paws-itively Paw-some Event

Organised by Jules Shepherd, founder of Wag-Fest and trustee of Saltdean Lido, Dogtember has received a warm reception from both locals and visitors. Shepherd describes the event as ‘paws-itively paw-some,’ highlighting the huge turnout of dogs and their owners. Alongside regular attendees, some well-known celebrities have joined in the festivities, including EastEnders stars Heather Peace and Jesse Wallace, each bringing their own canine companions.

Community Fun and Celebrity Visits

The opportunity to see celebrities in a relaxed setting has added extra excitement to the event. Heather Peace and Jesse Wallace were spotted enjoying the splash with their four-legged friends, adding a touch of star power to the already popular gathering. Such appearances help draw more visitors, boosting the local economy and tourism in Saltdean.

Sponsors and Future Dates

This year’s event is sponsored by Petgevity, a UK-based pet insurance provider, further showcasing the community’s support for animal welfare and local businesses. Dogtember 2026 is set to continue for two more weekends, with the final swims scheduled for September 26-27 and October 3-4. Jules Shepherd encourages pet owners to book in advance, reminding them not to make a ‘faux-paw’ by missing out on tickets, which remain available on platforms like wegottickets.com.

The widespread participation in Dogtember highlights the importance of community-led events that focus on lifestyle and recreational activities. Such gatherings strengthen bonds between locals and offer dogs a rare chance to enjoy communal spaces in a new way.

Wider Implications and Community Impact

Dogtember serves as more than just an entertainment outlet; it reflects broader themes of communal living and the growing trend of pet-friendly events tailored to modern lifestyles. The event underscores an increasing societal appreciation for the role pets play in people’s lives, celebrating this connection in a fun, inclusive environment.

As the event continues to draw crowds, it contributes positively to Saltdean’s social tapestry. The influx of visitors boosts local businesses, emphasising the reciprocal relationship between community initiatives and economic vitality.

In conclusion, Dogtember 2026 at Saltdean Lido proves to be a successful venture, bringing joy to residents, pets, and visitors alike. With a blend of community spirit, celebrity endorsements, and local business support, it remains a cherished date in the local calendar.
