Cowabunga! – Join Kent’s first Ninja Knockout

Ninja Knockout

Hundreds are expected to sign up for the county’s newest Ninja Knockout challenge, where skill and speed will be put to the test, while raising valuable funds for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

CASH prizes are up for grabs when dozens of wannabe-Ninja Warriors come face to face to determine who has what it takes to be the county’s Knockout Ninja.

Modelled on the notoriously tough assault course which has been a TV hit around the world, Demelza has created its own assault course at Central Park Stadium in Church Road, Sittingbourne, for Friday and Saturday September 16 and 17.

Companies are invited to sign up teams of four for the corporate challenge on the Friday, which runs from 2pm to midnight, for a maximum 75 teams, while individual entries are being accepted for the Saturday event, which runs from 9am to 2pm.

Participants will be asked to tackle a range of 10 obstacles, hurdles and a slippery water hazard over the 200m course, to see who deserves to be crowned King – or Queen – of the Ninjas. There will be prizes for the Knockout Male and Female and also some spot prizes along the way, including best fancy dress.

It costs £25 for individuals to enter and sponsorship is not obligatory – although every penny raised will help continue the vital work of Demelza in caring for children with life-limiting illnesses in the local community. Corporate teams pay £100 to enter and are asked to raise at least £100 in sponsorship. The stadium bar and disco run until midnight following Friday’s prize giving.

Emma Middleton, Demelza’s Head of Events said: “Each Ninja will have two shots to see how quickly they can complete the course with prizes going to Fastest Male, Fastest Female and Fastest Team. There may even be a finale knockout stage if there’s a tie-break. It’s going to be a true spectator sport, benefitting from the 1,800 sheltered  spectator seating, so get your colleagues, friends and family to come and cheer your team on.”
