Celebrating black authors this October & more

BLACK HISTORY MONTH | A CELEBRATION

October is Britain’s Black History Month which has been running for over 30 years and celebrates the culture, history and achievements of black communities.

It’s a great opportunity to reflect on the immeasurable contribution black authors have made to the literary landscape in this country. We’ll be doing this in our regular Among the Shelves blog posts, as well as throughout our libraries and through our ebook and audiobook provider BorrowBox.

RESTARTING CHARGES | LIBRARY FINES

We will restart charging for overdue items from 12 October 2020. Existing fines had been frozen but will begin to increase again from this date if you haven’t returned your loans.

You can renew your loans online, or by using the Spydus Mobile app, as long as the items haven’t been reserved by someone else.

If you have fines you need to pay, you can make payments online or pay at the library.
