8th West Kent CAMRA Real Ale & Cider Festival at the Spa Valley Railway

One of the biggest beer festivals in Kent & Sussex will take place on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st October 2018 at the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells in Kent.

Tunbridge Wells West is the main festival location and inside the engine shed visitors can find bars serving Real Ale, Green Hop beers and ciders, Fuggles Craft Beer Bar, a cheese food stand, Thai food, Fullers Butchers BBQ. On Friday and Saturday evenings along with Sunday afternoon there will also be live music.

 

The event will see the whole railway come alive with wonderful local brews and live entertainment.

 

This popular event takes place in the railway’s Victorian Engine Shed at Tunbridge Wells West where everyone can enjoy a pint or two throughout the day. The three venues will feature over 150 Real Ales including 30 Green Hop Beers, a craft beer bar featuring UK & European keg beers & separate Cider bar with 30 varieties.

 

Entrance to the festival is gained by purchasing a starter pack for £10.00 which includes a non-refundable souvenir Glass along with £7.00 of tokens to purchase beers. CAMRA members will receive the glass free on production of a valid membership card. There are separate festivals at each station and the trains which run throughout the event to these at Groombridge and Eridge Station.  Tickets to travel can be purchased online and at the stations at £20 per adult and £10 per child for unlimited all-day travel.  Members of CAMRA who produce their membership card can travel for just £15!

 

Special Rover Tickets are available for trains which travel from 17:30 for just £10, £5 for CAMRA and Spa Valley members on production of a valid membership cards.

 

For the first time the event is also combined with the railway’s annual Autumn Diesel Gala with the following line up of locomotives:  Drewry 2591 ‘Southerham’, Class 10 D3489 ‘Colonel Tomline’, Class 33 33063 ‘R.J.Mitchell’, Class 33/2 33201, Class 73 73140, Class 421 3CIG 1497, ‘Class 31/4 31430 ‘Sister Dora’.

 

Trains will be running on this day to & from the High Rocks, Groombridge & Eridge stations where festival goers can enjoy more beer & cider on the trains and at each station.”

The Event will take place on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 11pm and on Sunday from 11am to 6pm.

 

Trains operate from 8:30am Friday & Saturday until 10pm and from 10:30am to 6pm on Sunday.
