The 30th Wingham 10 and 5k takes place next Sunday!

This ever popular event has reached a landmark – this is the 30th year!! Join Sporting Events UK for a great celebration. This is the only race in the world with clay medals made by Canterbury Pottery!!

A particularly scenic route around the beautiful east Kent countryside. Starting out at the Recreation Ground in Wingham the route follows quiet country roads taking in some of the prettiest villages in Kent. This officially measured course is undulating and has in the past produced some quick times, so PBs really are possible!

 

The Wingham 10k is officially measured and is a popular choice. The Wingham 5k on the same day, gives a chance for a great quick dash. This is actually 5.3km!!

EVERY finisher will get one of the unique clay medals specially made for this event by Canterbury Pottery. A much talked about momento of the day.

There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female in the 10k and 5k, 1st male and female VET40, 50 and 60 in the 10k and a team prize in the 10k (three to score).

Suitable for all abilities from beginners to elite. Fully registered and certified by UKA and runbritain. As at all of our Road Athletics events we will be using electronic timing chips/transponders for the event. All results will be available at end of the race and will be submitted to UKA and runbritain for inclusion in record and rankings.

ADVANCED ENTRIES OPEN UNTIL 10AM 9TH SEPTEMBER. ON THE DAY ENTRIES WILL BE AVAILABLE 9AM – 10AM ON THE 10TH SEPTEMBER SUBJECT TO SPACE.

Under UK Athletics rules the minimum age for the 10km race is 15 years on the day, the 5km race is 13 years on the day.

Facilities at venue:
Wingham Recreation Ground and pavilion provides the base for the parking, registration, start & finish.  BBQ and drinks will be available.  Limited toilet and changing facilities.

There will also be kids fun races, making this a great day out for the whole family.

The kids races start after the main race. All entrants get a medal!

From all directions please follow directions of car park marshals upon arrival. Please do not park in goodnestone road as this forms part of the race route. If you park here the start of the race may be delayed whilst we get your car moved. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
