Life at CommunityAd – Celebrating life!

For the optimistic ones among us, life is a big celebration, there are so many things worth celebrating in life; being alive, being able to learn new things, and even the action of chasing our goals and reaching our goals is a celebration in itself. With the right mindset, every action becomes a celebration so this week our office has been full of positivity and celebrating life in every way possible!

Firstly, one reason this week is worth celebrating is the fact that despite the immensely busy week that Sarah in accounts has had; kept on her toes manning the accounts department all on her tod; she has powered through like an absolute champ! The week is nearly over and I bet she’s exhausted but here’s to celebrating with a nice glass of vino because you deserve it, you’ve done a blooming good job!

Second reason we’re all celebrating? For the first time in 5/6 weeks our sales team have successfully hit AND exceeded the team sales target! Congrats to you all! Credit to Kat, you’re back! Two special mentions this week; Danny had a nice win booking 10 full page adverts in our Essex publications for just one lovely customer, and as always, James has absolutely smashed his sales target selling the highest amount of advertising this week. Well-done boys!

This week in editorial, Matt spoke to Sir Roger Manwoods pupil and future West End Star in the making Louis Relf. Louis played the role of an Oakmoor student in the 2019 production of Nativity! This year Louis also auditioned for the School of Rock Musical and we spoke to him celebrating his success and finding out more about his future aspirations in the acting world. Make sure you remember the name- Louis Relf and read all about it in our upcoming Sandwich CommunityAd Magazine!

Callum spoke to Helen Hawkes, mother to Swanscombe’s own Karate Kids, Kieran, 18 and Navaeh, 10. The brother and sister pair took part in the 9th World Karate Championships across the seas in Romania this year as part of a team of 18, both winning bronze world medals and bringing success back to the English Channel – definitely worth celebrating! Find out more about this in our upcoming Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Ebbsfleet & Stone CommunityAd Magazine.

Alice spoke to Sara Tuppen from Faversham, who is raising money to fund surgery for Piccolo Pete, a little black poodle with crooked back knees who had a very rough start in life. He was rescued by Sara’s co-worker Les, and together they are raising money to get Piccolo Pete back on all four paws again. You can read about this and support the fundraiser in our upcoming Faversham CommunityAd Magazine.

Today, we announced the winner of the competition that has been running on our Facebook page for two tickets to see Rock of Ages at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford. Congratulations to Hazel McCarthy we hope you enjoy celebrating winning the competition and enjoy your time at the fantastic theatre! Another competition is now live on our page, if you’re interested in wrestling then definitely go check it out!

We have also been celebrating the magazines (quite a few) that have gone to print this week! Uckfield, Newick, Royal Tunbridge Wells & Tonbridge, Billericay & Brentwood and Bridge & Villages. Keep your eyes peeled as these will come through your doors soon!

Literally celebrating life this week, we had 3 birthdays, Lindsey, Glynne and Aimee. Hoping you all had the most fantastic birthday week celebrating your day of birth and looking forward to celebrating your birthdays more this weekend at Aimee’s 30th birthday bash!

The sun is shining again and the weekend is almost here, have a good one guys!

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY – DO ONE THING – 10 OCTOBER 2021

This World Mental Health Day, do one thing and make change happen. If we all do one thing, we can change everything.

The theme from the World Foundation for Mental Health for this year’s World Mental Health Day on Sunday 10 October, is mental health in an unequal world. Local mental health charity West Kent Mind is joining national charity Mind to campaign for better mental health services for everyone – whatever their race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability or class.

At West Kent Mind we believe:
Access to mental health support is too often determined by who a person is, or where they live. Everyone should have access to proper mental health support. The pandemic has put the mental health of millions at risk, it has changed people’s lives and behaviours and the impact of it will be seen for many years to come. By working together, we can raise awareness, fight for change, for fairness, for respect and for life-changing support for all.

West Kent Mind invites everyone in the local community to Do One Thing for better mental health this World Mental Health Day and make change happen.

Do One Thing!
• Pick up the phone, text, message or simply chat. Start a conversation about mental health with a friend, family member, neighbour, colleague. Ask them how they really are – a small conversation has the power to make a big difference.
Find out about the local support available and reach out for help for yourself or someone you care about.
• Make some time to put your mental wellbeing first: take a walk, connect with a friend, listen to music that makes you happy, cook, garden, dance!
Support and donate to West Kent Mind – help us reach more people in our local community experiencing mental ill health through our services and support groups westkentmind.org.uk/donate
Share your Do One Thing on social media (tag @westkentmind #doonething)
Add your voice to campaign for better, more equal mental health services. Share your experience and share your story.

If we all do one thing, we can change everything. #DoOneThing #WMHD
