Life at CommunityAd – Congratulations!

This week is a VERY special week for so many reasons!

Firstly, from ALL of us at CommunityAd, a huge congratulations to our sales manager Kat and Allan on their wedding day! Today’s the day! A few of the CommunityAd team (Kelly, Jess and Georgia) are currently sunning it up in Gibraltar celebrating Kat and Allan’s wedding day today whilst the rest of the team are celebrating from our desks whilst holding down the fort. Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness Kat and Allan!

Meanwhile, as both Kat and Kelly are away this week, for the first time in my many years at CommunityAd, I have had the pleasure of relocating to the sales floor to support the sales team. I honestly did not know what I was in store for (I was imagining Wolf of Wall Street) but I can say it has genuinely been a fantastic week. Obviously, with sales there are targets but I am so very happy to say 99% of the team hit their target this week and it was a very enjoyable week! Congratulations guys! Looks like plenty of sweet treats and banter is the key to success! A few other great achievements this week in sales too…Congratulations to Dom- our upcoming Tunbridge Wells publication has recently been developed into our new Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge CommunityAd Magazine which has been very popular and all advertising spaces have now been filled thanks to Dom! Congratulations to Ryan for hitting his record week in cold sales! Well-done Ryan you have smashed it! And as for the cash prize incentive on Wednesday…bit on controversy on this so I’m just going to leave it at congratulations to Dom AND James!

This week in editorial, Matt spoke to debut Paralympian JohnBoy Smith whose story is an incredible one. After being shot in the spine at just 16, JohnBoy was paralysed and told he would never walk again. Despite his career goals now having to drastically change, JohnBoy’s desire and heart led him to compete in wheelchair powerlifting events before he took up wheelchair racing and won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the T54 marathon event. Congratulations in order as this year JohnBoy set a season’s best time in Tokyo, finishing 10th at his very first Paralympics. You can read all about this in our upcoming Sevenoaks magazine.

As well as our fantastic interview with JohnBoy Smith, did you know it has been 10 years of the Folkestone Mermaid statue?! Matt spoke one-on-one with real-life model of the mermaid Georgina Baker about her story and the wonderful Mermaid Miniatures that have been selling like hot cakes in commemoration of the 10-year anniversary. Read more about this in our upcoming Sandgate & Hythe magazine.

For the animal enthusiasts amongst our readers, Callum spoke to two residents from Sevenoaks who have spent weeks researching the life of Freddie – the famous seal who grew to fame on the River Thames. They have released a book detailing his incredible journey.

Alice enjoyed researching English folklore for an article about Black Dogs in Sussex for our upcoming Burgess Hill magazine– a mythical beast who influenced authors like Arthur Conan Doyle and JK Rowling.

We have seen our Great Baddow, Bramley & Sherfield, Romney Marsh, and Canterbury publications go to print so for readers in these areas this week so the latest issue will be dropping through your letterbox soon! As always, we are appreciative for all the hard work the team have put in towards getting the books published. On a side note, it is so amazing to know that all the hard work the entire CommunityAd team put into producing our magazines are appreciated. Check out our Facebook page and Google Business page reviews! Our readers and advertisers have all made us feel extremely loved this week with the wonderful words of recommendations left on our pages. And we aren’t the only ones feeling the love, congratulations once again to Kat and Allan, and to you reading this – wishing you a wonderful and love-filled weekend!
