Witham Puppet Festival 2017 16th September
Witham Puppet Festival
This Puppet Festival is an annual event, which is held on the third Saturday every September, so this year will be the 16th September.
The event is on between 10.30am and 4.00pm, and is based in the High Street (Newland Street) with performance areas also in the Grove Shopping Centre, The Newlands Centre, The Cofunds Car Park and The Library.
The theme of this year’s Puppet Festival is ‘Under the Sea’ – come and look out for unusual Sea Creatures, join in the Maritime Mayhem and watch out for some Scurvy Pirates!
Younger Children can enjoy a full programme of storytelling throughout the day in the Library – come and meet the Lighthouse Keeper and Captain Crossbones!
We are inviting all children to enter our Fancy Dress Competition again this year, come along dressed as a Pirate, Mermaid, or any other Sea Creature! Judging will take place opposite the Library at 1.40pm.
Free Craft workshops are taking place all day in The Grove Centre, head down to the log cabin and see what your children can create.
Additionally, The Witham and District Chamber of Commerce are holding an open day in The Hub in The Newlands Centre, call in for goodie bags, refreshments, colouring competition and much more.
