SWITCH OFF WITH YOUR FAMILY AT KENT LIFE TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL UNPLUGGING DAY

Can your family go a whole day without any technology? This year’s National Unplugging Day is held on Sunday 25 June and Kent Life Heritage Farm Park is supporting the national campaign by urging people to keep their tablets and smartphones switched off and enjoy a family day out instead!

Now in its third year, National Unplugging Day organisers are asking parents around the UK to pledge to #GoGadgetFree and spend the day from sun-up to sun-down without any technology. Last year more than 500,000 UK families participated on the day itself, they say.

The campaign says that with traditional family values under constant attack from modern day living and a variety of mental, physical and emotional issues stemming from technology overuse, it’s no wonder that people of all ages have never been more desperate to find ways to get a handle on their digital habits.

Kent Life General Manager Natalie Cox agrees. “National Unplugging Day should be a day of celebration and fun. It’s a day where everyone should break free from technology to re-connect with themselves and those they love.

“Where better for families to enjoy a day unplugged from modern technology than at Kent Life, which celebrates our rural heritage and countryside traditions. And with a family ticket for two adults and two children costing just £29.95 it’s a great value day out too,” adds Natalie.

Kent Life is the county’s premier rural heritage experience, set in 28 acres of glorious countryside. Visitors can explore the working farm, where they’ll find sheep, pigs, ducks, goats, alpacas, horses and ponies, and even enjoy a hug with some of the farm’s smaller animals in Cuddle Corner. Admire the magnificent residents of the Kent Owl Academy and meet our cheeky meerkats Shilo and Jessie.

Explore the beautiful gardens, orchard and one of the last hand-picked hop gardens in the country; ramble along the wildlife discovery trail; and see the last working coal-fired oast house in Britain. Kent Life has large indoor play areas to explore, so there’s entertainment guaranteed, whatever the weather.

Admission prices: adults £9.95, children (three to 15 years) £7.95, concessions £8.95, family ticket (two adults and two children) £29.95. Under-threes and members go free. Book online in advance for a 15% discount.

Opening times: 10am to 5pm, last admission 4pm.
