A bit about Old Basing

Old Basing is a village in the county of Hampshire, situated approximately two miles North East of Basingstoke. Some of the houses in the village date back to the 17th century and are made from narrow red bricks and have gabled tiled roofs.

Old Basing has many places to visit, Basing House is an old ruin which was once the country’s largest private house and was home to the courtier William Paulet who was the Marquess of Winchester. There is also Basing canal, Blacklands farm, Great farm and St Mary’s parish church and old cemetery.

There are many annual events held in Old Basing each year such as the Old Basing carnival and The Village show.
