A bit about Hathersage

Hathersage is a village which is situated in Hope Valley, in the Peak District in Derbyshire. The village is situated to the north of the River Derwent and is approximately 10 miles away from the city of Sheffield.

There is a dispute about where the name Hathersage came from, although the common consensus is that the second half came from the Old English word ecg meaning “edge”.
